When a patient calls the office, we recommend letting them know about Klara at the end of the call.

Here's a suggested script:

"Thanks for calling, (patient name). Next time you can feel free to message us on Klara rather than calling and waiting on hold or leaving a voicemail. We use Klara, a secure messaging platform so you can reach us directly via a message. You will see a text alert to quickly login and view the message. I will go ahead and send you a quick message while we are on the phone/ right after we get off the phone so you can start to use Klara to communicate with us."

To Do: Staff member searches / adds the patient in Klara and sends the patient a welcome message.

When a patient checks in or out for an appointment, we recommend letting them know about Klara (if you haven't sent them a welcome message on Klara already!):

Here's a suggested script:

"Next time you need to reach us, you can feel free to message us on Klara rather than calling and waiting on hold or leaving a voicemail. We use Klara, a secure messaging platform so you can reach us directly via a message. You will see a text alert to quickly login and view the message. I will go ahead and send you a quick message right now so you can start to use Klara to communicate with us. You can also use the Klara chat feature on our website."

You should then add the patient to Klara (if you haven't already) and send them a welcome message. Wait for them to check their phone and confirm that they received it and understand how to read it.
