Updating Date of Birth

  • For any new patient who has never logged into Klara before, you can update their date of birth by clicking into the header with the patient’s name, and making the necessary changes. 
  • Upon their first login, the patient will be asked to verify the date of birth you have in Klara, to confirm it is all correct.

 

  • If the patient needs to make any changes to the information you had on file, they can do so at that time (when they are first logging in). In these cases, you would be notified that the patient needed to update their information on file, via the system message shown below.
  • To update their profile with the correct date of birth, you can click into the header with the patient’s name, and make the necessary changes. Note that the patient will not be able to log into Klara until you update their date of birth.
  • Please note: It’s important to verify the date of birth first with the patient by phone, to ensure you don’t grant account access to the wrong person. 

Updating Cell Phone Number

  • For any new patient who has never logged into Klara before, you can update their cell phone number by clicking into the header with the patient’s name and making the necessary changes. 

Existing Patients

Updating Date of Birth

  • If you need to update the date of birth for a patient who has previously used Klara, the patient will need to verify this first. 
  • When the patient logs in, they will see the screen below: 
  • If the patient puts in a date of birth that is different than the one you have on file, then your team will be notified with the system message below. (Note: This will appear as a new message in Klara.)
  • From there, you can click into the header with the patient’s name, and select the updated date of birth from the drop down menu. 
  • Please note: It’s important to verify the date of birth first with the patient by phone, to ensure you don’t grant account access to the wrong person. 
  • Once you click “Update,” the patient will get a notification that their date of birth has been updated, and will be able to log in with their correct information. 

Updating Cell Phone Number

  • If you need to update the cell phone number for a patient who has previously used Klara, the patient will need to verify this first.
  • You can click into the header with the patient’s name, and make the necessary changes. You will see this confirmation that the patient has been notified of these changes, and will have three days to verify. 
  • As soon as the patient confirms this number and logs into their account, you will see a system message that the phone number has been updated, and you will be able to communicate with the patient using this updated number.
